Software Engineer, Front End

PeerIQ is looking to hire an experienced front end engineer with a passion for building best-in-class financial technologies.  You will be at the forefront of delivering new features and capabilities for our data and analytics platform, leading major product initiatives and working closely with stakeholders across our platform, capital markets, and quantitative teams.

The ideal candidate is a self-starting and adaptable engineer proficient in multiple languages and tools, who enjoys solving difficult technical and business challenges.  You’re passionate about mastering and incorporating the latest UI frameworks, great interactive design, and web technologies and performance.  You also enjoy leading and delivering major builds from scratch, both for work and personal hobbies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with design, product and development to implement our web-based application using EmberJS
  • Build front-end tools and visualizations for data driven insights and related products
  • Research latest technologies and frameworks for improved solutions and product features
  • Work closely with our platform, research, and capital markets leads on both prototyping and iterative design and development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-6 years of Front-end development experience (financial services strongly preferred)
  • A passion for modern front-end technologies (Javascript, ReactJS or Angular.js, SASS and Python is preferred), with an obsession for performance.
  • Experience using web architectures (Ember, D3, Django REST Framework, AWS preferred)
  • An appreciation for UX; from reading experience, accessibility, to best practices
  • Proven critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills

Software Engineer, Data

PeerIQ is looking to hire a software engineer passionate about data, data-driven insights, and building customer-facing products and features to best capture them. You will be at the forefront of green field development in delivering our data and analytics platform, working closely with our product, research, and capital markets teams on business-driven development.

The ideal candidate is a self-starting engineer who enjoys working with data (analysis, transformations, analytics) with experience in multiple back end, front end, and visualization technologies.

Previous successful candidates for this role, even if lacking financial product experience, have shown themselves to be passionate developers through projects they have built from scratch for work and personal satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess data from disparate sources and create a robust, scalable and highly configurable model
  • Implement big data and visualization solutions as the environment grows and scales
  • Build front-end tools and visualizations for data driven insights and related products
  • Work closely with our product, data, research, and capital markets leads on data retrieval and analysis, as well as prototyping and iterative development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of software engineering experience with focus on data analysis
  • Proficiency in Python and knowledge of key frameworks (Django a plus)
  • Experience in other languages (Java, Scala, R) is preferred
  • Strong relational database and modeling experience, and familiarity with SQL is critical
  • Experience developing and building ETL processes and workflows from the ground up
  • Proficiency in Data Quality automation techniques
  • Experience with automated build and continuous integration testing tools
  • Proven critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills

PeerIQ is looking to hire a full stack software engineer eager to build great products and capabilities for our analytics platform, including tools for data analytics, reporting, visualizations, large scale computation and client administration.  You’ll tackle a wide breath of engineering challenges, owning core builds of major new product and features releases.

The ideal candidate is a self-starting engineer proficient in multiple languages and tools, who enjoys solving difficult technical and business challenges, ranging from back-end scalability to analytical functions and aggregation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the design and development of our new web-based analytics modules, visualizations, RESTful APIs, and other platform toolkits
  • Lead integration projects with major clients and strategic partners
  • Support the development and performance of our front-end architecture
  • Work closely with our product, research, and capital markets leads on both prototyping and iterative development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of software engineering experience with focus on
  • Expertise developing web applications and RESTful APIs

DevOps Engineer

PeerIQ is looking to hire a dev ops engineer passionate about building scalable and reliable systems.   A core part of the PeerIQ engineering team, you will be working with the latest technologies to help best scale our analytics platform to meet the demands of our growing customer base.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with multiple languages and tools and enjoys solving difficult technical and business challenges. You have a solid foundation of time tested DevOps/SRE best practices, but stay up to date on the latest technologies and look forward to embedding the best solutions into our technology infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and performance of the PeerIQ platform
  • Assess and recommend various software architectures and build framework, optimizing across cost, performance, resiliency /fault tolerance, load balancing, data consistency
  • Build out self service controlled build, release, and deployments for developers to help increase product delivery
  • Work closely with our product, research, and capital markets leads on both prototyping and iterative development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, with focus on dev ops and site reliability
  • Prior engineering experience across linux/unix administration, systems programming, distributed systems, databases, cloud computing (AWS preferred), automated configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Puppet) and continuous delivery systems.
  • Experience creating and maintaining builds using QA Testing and Release Management Applications such as Jenkins, or similar systems.
  • Experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, Scala, Javascript.

Data Insights Analyst

PeerIQ is looking to hire an exceptional analyst for our Data Insights team who is excited to analyze, onboard, and enhance some of the most interesting data sets in consumer credit. You’ll develop considerable expertise in consumer credit and work directly with our clients at banks, hedge funds, and loan originators. The ideal candidate has strong math skills, enjoys investigating complex data issues, and coming up with robust solutions to solve them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with data providers and clients to integrate new data sets into the PeerIQ Analytics platform
  • Own core components of the data ingestion pipeline, design optimizations, and automate manual processes
  • Develop expertise across our data warehouse, analytical tools, and sector in order to help our clients quickly reach valuable insight
  • Partner with the client delivery team to answer data questions and ensure all client commitments are met

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Engineering, Math, Finance or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with financial data or systems (consumer credit background is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and SQL
  • Experience with Python, R, Matlab, or other programmatic data analysis language
  • Experience working with and analyzing large datasets (too big for Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to interface directly with clients to solve data issues
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to focus on a problem, ask insightful questions, and gain expertise quickly
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices (unit testing, code reusability, version control, etc.) and an understanding of why they are important
