Software Engineer, Front End

PeerIQ is looking to hire an experienced front end engineer with a passion for building best-in-class financial technologies.  You will be at the forefront of delivering new features and capabilities for our data and analytics platform, leading major product initiatives and working closely with stakeholders across our platform, capital markets, and quantitative teams.

The ideal candidate is a self-starting and adaptable engineer proficient in multiple languages and tools, who enjoys solving difficult technical and business challenges.  You’re passionate about mastering and incorporating the latest UI frameworks, great interactive design, and web technologies and performance.  You also enjoy leading and delivering major builds from scratch, both for work and personal hobbies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with design, product and development to implement our web-based application using EmberJS
  • Build front-end tools and visualizations for data driven insights and related products
  • Research latest technologies and frameworks for improved solutions and product features

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-6 years of Front-end development experience (financial services strongly preferred)

Software Engineer, Data

PeerIQ is looking to hire a software engineer passionate about data, data-driven insights, and building customer-facing products and features to best capture them. You will be at the forefront of green field development in delivering our data and analytics platform, working closely with our product, research, and capital markets teams on business-driven development.

The ideal candidate is a self-starting engineer who enjoys working with data (analysis, transformations, analytics) with experience in multiple back end, front end, and visualization technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess data from disparate sources and create a robust, scalable and highly configurable model
  • Implement big data and visualization solutions as the environment grows and scales
  • Build front-end tools and visualizations for data driven insights and related products
  • Work closely with our product, data, research, and capital markets leads on data retrieval and analysis, as well as prototyping and iterative development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent experience

DevOps Engineer

PeerIQ is looking to hire a dev ops engineer passionate about building scalable and reliable systems.   A core part of the PeerIQ engineering team, you will be working with the latest technologies to help best scale our analytics platform to meet the demands of our growing customer base.

You have a solid foundation of time tested DevOps/SRE best practices, but stay up to date on the latest technologies and look forward to embedding the best solutions into our technology infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and performance of the PeerIQ platform
  • Assess and recommend various software architectures and build framework, optimizing across cost, performance, resiliency /fault tolerance, load balancing, data consistency
  • Build out self service controlled build, release, and deployments for developers to help increase product delivery
  • Work closely with our product, research, and capital markets leads on both prototyping and iterative development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, with focus on dev ops and site reliability
  • Prior engineering experience across linux/unix administration, systems programming, distributed systems, databases, cloud computing (AWS preferred), automated configuration management (e.g. Ansible, Puppet) and continuous delivery systems.
  • Experience creating and maintaining builds using QA Testing and Release Management Applications such as Jenkins, or similar systems.

Director, Portfolio Valuations

PeerIQ is looking for an exceptional Valuations Director with experience in consumer ABS, as well as whole-loan and residual valuation.  The candidate will be responsible for managing work in support of our prepayment, default and loss forecasting; pricing and valuation; and other economic calculations. The ideal candidate will be able to lead in the full lifecycle of our Valuations business, managing quants, overseeing delivery, and ultimately growing our valuations business.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, able to dive right in and start working with large datasets, including the largest consumer credit data set in the market (via our partnership with TransUnion). You have a deep interest in innovation in financial markets and thrive in a high-velocity, unstructured start-up environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain algorithms, models, and related tools for the automatic and statistical validation of consumer loan data, including the calculation and refinement of credit risk curves
  • Develop and grow our emerging loan and bond valuation business line
  • Document and communicate modeling approach, process, and related findings to internal and external clients as necessary
  • Collaborate with development team for model integration into our existing analytics platform

QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.S. or Ph.D in a technical discipline (mathematics, finance, physics, engineering or similar field)
  • 3+ years of credit risk modeling experience (consumer loans experience preferred), with familiarity in major valuation techniques, including multiple regression analyses, Markov modeling, and machine-learning
  • Strong knowledge of mathematical finance and of numerical techniques employed in derivatives pricing models

Research Analyst

PeerIQ is looking to hire an experienced analyst to build out the leading research desk for the alternative lending sector.  You will cover market participants, including originators, investors, and securitizers, as well characteristics and performance of loans and related securitizations. You will be at the forefront of this rapidly growing industry, engaging and educating key players while bolstering PeerIQ’s reputation as a thought leader in the space.

The ideal candidate must have experience as a publishing research analyst, ideally within consumer ABS, at a leading investment bank or research institution.  In addition, candidates should have a high degree of analytical capability, solid critical thinking and communication skills, be self-starting and adaptable, and have high-level contacts at large asset managers, insurance companies, and hedge fund ABS desks.  Experience at a fast paced, financial or technology firm is a plus.  In addition to research, the successful candidate will work with technology, sales, strategy, and capital markets teams within PeerIQ across a broad number of initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate and monitor the risk characteristics of loans and related ABS securitizations, including analysis of prepayments, delinquencies, defaults, severities, returns, securitization structure, and issuer/servicer credit quality relative to other forms of consumer credit
  • Publish regular reports and other research assets to educate market participants on industry trends and issues, help them compare and contrast various aspects of the market, and highlight the role of PeerIQ data and applications in your analysis.
  • Work with technology team to develop additional tools to enhance securitization analysis and portfolio management
  • Represent PeerIQ Research in meetings with originators, investors, and other market participants
  • Lead the expansion of our research team and product offerings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS, MBA, graduate degree in finance, math, statistics, or related field, or applicable professional designation (e.g. CFA)
  • 2-4 years of experience as a research analyst in consumer ABS or structured finance desk.
  • Strong familiarity with major ABS data resources (e.g., Bloomberg) and ability to analyze consumer ABS collateral pools
  • Working knowledge and/or ability to understand programming languages (VBA, SQL, C++, Matlab, R, Python)
  • Strong financial/quantitative, critical thinking and communication skills (both written and oral)
