PeerIQ, the New York based marketplace lending analytics firm has added a new head of sales, according to sources at the company. Brian Roncoroni, most recently a senior sales executive handling key accounts at CoreLogic, will join PeerIQ as the head of their first sales team. Before CoreLogic, Roncoroni worked at SunGard and FactSet. He will be based in New York.
The marketplace lending sector already has a number of competing data and analytics firms but PeerIQ is carving out a niche by focusing on analytics and risk management of marketplace lending securitisations. Although still an emerging sector the fourth quarter of 2015 saw nine deals worth $2.7 billion issued, according to PeerIQ data. Most deals were backed by consumer loans or student loans but there was also a small business securitisation from originator OnDeck.
